Yang Kee Noodle Celebrates New Location by Raising Funds for Gilda’s Club Louisville

Restaurant announces June 2 ribbon-cutting and fundraiser to benefit cancer support programs

Louisville, Ky. (May 31, 2016) – Louisville-based, fast-casual restaurant, Yang Kee Noodle, announced today that it will host a fundraiser benefiting Gilda’s Club Louisville on Thursday, June 2 to celebrate the opening of its Highlands location at 1004 Bardstown Road. A ribbon-cutting will kick-off the fundraiser at 5 pm.

Yankee Noodle“Yang Kee Noodle will donate 100 percent of all food sales at our new Highlands location between 5 and 9 pm on Thursday, June 2 to help local individuals, families and friends who have been impacted by cancer,” said Dan Huckestein, Operating Partner for Yang Kee Noodle. “What better way to join this vibrant community than to partner with the Gilda’s Club, a Highlands-based organization that offers much needed strength and comfort to so many in need? We could not be helping a better cause.”

First opening at Oxmoor Mall in 2003, Yang Kee Noodle quickly became a local favorite for high quality, create-your-own stir-fry dishes at budget-friendly prices. The restaurant boasts a decade of commitment to variety, customization and freshness. Last summer, Yang Kee Noodle opened their second location at Middletown Commons with a revamped and updated interior. The new Highlands location, situated at the iconic property where Bardstown Road and Baxter Avenue merge, will also feature these modern upgrades.

Yang Kee Noodle offers dishes inspired by the traditional noodle houses found throughout Asia including Thailand, Japan, Korea, Vietnam and China. The menu, developed by renowned chef and Yang Kee Noodle partner John D. Castro, consists of fresh, innovative ingredients prepared from scratch daily. Guests can choose from Asian classics such as General Tso’s or Chicken Lo Mein or create their own noodle or rice dish, mixing and matching fresh ingredients and bold flavors, all for under $10. The restaurant’s menu accommodates a variety of dietary restrictions with vegan and gluten free options and features two specialty drinks: Thai Ice Tea and Filipino Lemonade. The new Yang Kee Noodle will also offer a selection of wine and craft beer. (View the full menu here.)

“We cannot choose whether or not cancer becomes a part of our lives, but we do have a choice about how we cope and live with this disease,” said Tonya Cook, Chief Development Officer with Gilda’s Club Louisville. “At Gilda’s Club, our door is open to anyone touched by cancer who is looking for understanding, information and a loving community to support them through their journey.”

The money raised by Yang Kee Noodle will go toward Gilda’s Club Louisville’s many programs for local cancer patients, survivors and their loved ones, including support and networking groups, cancer education, healthy lifestyle classes and more.

“Yang Kee Noodle is such a great addition to the Highlands neighborhood and Gilda’s Club is thankful for their tremendous support of our mission,” said Cook.

The 3,150 square foot restaurant includes seating for 96 inside with an additional 48 seats on a large outdoor patio. Keeping the high level of foot-traffic the Highlands is known for in mind, the new Yang Kee Noodle will feature a walk-up window in addition to curbside pick-up, online ordering, and catering options. Yang Kee Noodle, which was ranked “Best Take Out in Louisville” in 2013, 2014 and 2015, is also available via Takeout Taxi.
