Public Service Commission appoints executive director

Effective July 12

FRANKFORT, Ky. (July 8, 2016) — Talina Rose Mathews has been appointed executive director of the Public Service Commission, effective July 12. Mathews most recently was director of member services and advocacy at the Organization of MISO States, Inc.

Mathews served the commonwealth in the Department for Energy and Independence as director of Energy Generation, Transmission and Distribution and assistant director of the Carbon Management Division. In addition to those posts, she held positions as staff assistant for Policy, executive staff advisor and economist at the Public Service Commission as well as executive director of the Governor’s Office of Energy Policy.

She also previously served as executive vice president and chief administrative officer of Engineering Consulting Services Inc., in Lexington.

Mathews holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from the University of Kentucky and a B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from Berea College. She has been an adjunct instructor at Eastern Kentucky University and at the Association of Independent Kentucky Colleges and Universities in Frankfort.
