Free business professionals workshops scheduled at Gateway Community and Technical College

First workshop Friday on hiring skilled veterans

FLORENCE, Ky. (July 11, 2016) — Gateway Community and Technical College is offering free business professionals workshops that will preview Gateway workforce solutions.

The first workshop, from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, will provide tips and techniques for hiring skilled veterans. This session features Dan Knowles, Tri-State Veterans Community Alliance, and Lisa Roberts-Rosser, Cincinnati Economic Liaison for the Veteran Economic Communities Initiative with The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The session will take place at Boone Campus in Florence  in the BB&T Classroom and Training Center, room 120.

A July 26 workshop will teach the power of effective listening. Mike Koch, Gateway corporate trainer, will discuss specific listening techniques and barriers to effective communication. The session will take place at the Boone Campus in Florence, in the Center for Advanced Manufacturing, room B104-A.
