Four Kentucky colleges ranked among top 16 best colleges or universities in South by U.S. News & World Report

Includes Bellarmine, Asbury, Kentucky Wesleyan and KSU

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 13, 2016) — Four Kentucky colleges and universities were ranked among the best in the South by the 2017 U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges. The South region includes Kentucky, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

For top Regional Universities South, Bellarmine University was ranked 12th and Asbury University 14th. For best Regional Colleges South Kentucky Wesleyan College was ranked 13th
and Kentucky State University 16th.

The institutions receive rankings based on: Graduation and retention rates; undergraduate academic reputation; faculty resources; student selectivity; financial resources; graduation rate performance; and alumni giving rate.

Other rankings include:

  • Centre College was ranked 44th nationally.
  • Transylvania University was ranked 10th nationally for Best Colleges For The Money and among the top 100 liberal arts schools in the nation.
