Enrollment period begins Tuesday
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 31, 2016) — Health insurance for 2017 from Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield will be available in all 120 counties on the state’s exchange plan, which opens for enrollment on Tuesday. Anthem says it is the only carrier in Kentucky to be available in every county.
“As the health care environment changes, Anthem continues to take our commitment to the citizens of Kentucky very seriously by serving every county in the state,”aid Deb Moessner, president of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kentucky. “This year, we’ve worked hard to extend our Pathway HMO plans to more of the state so more people can benefit from the coordinated care that these plans provide.”
The Anthem Individual Pathway HMO offers members a network of primary care doctors to choose from without the need for a referral to visit a medical specialist, said Anthem. Network specialists will keep each primary care physician in the loop, so they have a complete knowledge of patient’s medical history and treatment.
“Anthem is committed to providing Kentuckians access to high quality and affordable health care plans, and continues to offer options that provide a comprehensive network, providing access to quality, affordable health care,” said Moessner.
