Submissions being accepted from students for agriculture-themed Poster and Essay Contest

Theme is ‘Kentucky Farmers Feed the Hungry’

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Nov. 14, 2016) — Submissions are being accepted for the Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s and Kentucky Agriculture and Environment in the Classroom Inc.’s 17th annual Poster and Essay Contest.

Students in kindergarten through 12th grade are eligible to enter  a poster, essay, or a digital image on the theme “Kentucky Farmers Feed the Hungry.” Statewide poster and essay winners from each grade will be chosen and an overall digital winner will be selected. Each statewide grade winner and the digital art winner will receive a $100 award and will be recognized at an awards ceremony later in 2017.

Entries must be postmarked by April 7 and mailed to the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, 111 Corporate Dr., Frankfort, KY 40601. A completed entry form must be taped or glued to the back of each entry. A completed teacher form must accompany all posters and essays from the teacher’s class. Winners will be notified by May 1.
