Pizmo Time sells for $120,000 at Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 18, 2016) — Pizmo Time, a winning 3-year-old gelding by City Zip from the family of 2016 Personal Ensign (G1) and Ogden Phipps (G1) winner Cavorting, sold for $120,000 to Caves Farm to lead Thursday’s 10th session of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale, where cumulative sales figures are holding steady to the 2015 auction.

The November Sale, which ends Sunday, to date has sold 2,171 horses for $211,708,000 versus gross sales of $215,985,500 for 2,200 horses during the corresponding period in 2015. The average of $97,516 is just below last year’s $98,175, while the median of $40,000 is unchanged from 2015.

On Thursday, Keeneland sold 247 horses for $3,336,700, down 15.82 percent from the 10th session last year when total sales reached $3,963,600 for 242 horses sold. The average of $13,509 was 17.52 percent below last year’s $16,379, and the median of $9,000 decreased 10 percent from $10,000 in 2015.

The session-topping Pizmo Time was consigned by Eaton Sales, agent for the Dispersal of the Estate of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Bender. The gelding is out of the Tale of the Cat mare Prom Time, whose family also includes Grade 1 winners Another Review and No Review and Cavorting’s dam, Grade 2 winner Promenade Girl.

Deedee’s Dennis, a colt by Flat Out, sold to RQH Inc. for $82,000 to be the session’s highest-priced weanling. Consigned by Kaizen Sales, agent, he is out of the Kissin Kris mare Walkinforkisses and from the family of Grade 1 winners Yes It’s True and Silver Max and Grade 3 winner Cocked and Loaded.

Two broodmares each sold for $75,000. Keith and Rachel McClelland purchased the first, She’s Ordained, a 7-year-old stakes-winning daughter of Ministers Wild Cat in foal to Mucho Macho Man. Adena Springs consigned She’s Ordained, who is out of the Not For Love mare Whole Lotta Love and from the family of Grade 1 winner and sire Include. She sold with a 2017 no-guarantee season to Point of Entry.

Solis/Litt paid $75,000 for Silverbulletfolly, a 10-year-old daughter of Vindication out of multiple champion Silverbulletday in foal to Secret Circle. Silverbulletfolly is the dam of stakes-placed winner Mile High Magic, by Roman Ruler.

The leading buyer Thursday was K.O.I.D., which paid $154,000 for eight horses.

Hill ‘n’ Dale Sales Agency was the leading consignor, selling 21 horses for $394,600.
