LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 15, 2016) — Morehead State University basketball coach and former University of Kentucky basketball player Sean Woods has resigned, multiple outlets are reporting. Woods has been under investigation for allegedly physically abusing at least two players.

Woods, who has been suspended since Nov. 22, was charged with misdemeanor battery after two players—Malik Maitland and Soufiyane Diakite—said in a court affidavit that they had altercations with him. Woods had previously been suspended for shoving a player in 2012. Matiland’s father also told ESPN earlier this week that Woods head-butted Malik last season, but his son accepted an apology from the coach.

Woods played for UK from 1988-1992 and was one of the “Unforgettables.” He was named coach at Morehead in 2012.
