GLAR sales up 8.4% over this time last year

November sales up 24.5%

(Dec. 19, 2016) — The Greater Louisville Association of Realtors reported that home and condo sales are up 8.4 percent this year, compared to the same time last year. The median price was up 5.7 percent and the average price was up 3.5 percent. November sales are up 24.5 percent from November 2015, with 1,341 homes and condos sold this November.

In Jefferson County the average price in November was $206,163 and the median $163,500. For all areas the inventory of available properties was 21.5 percent lower than the same time last year. In Jefferson County, the inventory of homes and condos for sale was 23.6 percent lower than in November 2015.

“Our members continued to see a strong sellers’ market for homes and condos under $300,000, with just a two month supply of inventory,” said GLAR president Allison Bartholomew. “Properties in the $300,000 to $500,000 price range continued to sell at a pretty brisk pace, with just a four month supply of inventory. Buyers at $500,000 and higher had a wider selection of homes to choose from, with an eight month supply of inventory.”
