UK offers nonprofit, government networking event for students, alumni

mixerLEXINGTON (Feb. 28, 2017) — The University of Kentucky Stuckert Career Center and the UK College of Social Work will co-host the Nonprofit and Government Networking Social at 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, at the Singletary Center for the Arts.

At the resource fair, students and alumni can meet and greet representatives of over 50 agencies that are looking for UK students seeking practicum, internship, shadowing and employment opportunities. Some of the agencies that plan to attend include Americorp, God’s Pantry Food Bank, Lexington Rescue Mission, Office of Kentucky’s Secretary of State, and Teach for America, to name a few.

“This is a great opportunity to find out what agencies look for in new hires as well as how their organizations work to improve the lives of individuals, families and communities,” said Azetta Beatty, senior assistant director at UK’s James W. Stuckert Career Center.
