CINCINNATI, Ohio (April 5, 2017) — Steve Martenet has been named president of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Ohio.
Martenet has more than two decades of experience in the industry, having held senior leadership positions with progressive strategic responsibility at Anthem including president of commercial business in Missouri and Wisconsin, and vice president of sales in Ohio and Kentucky. In his new role, Martenet will oversee the management of Anthem’s commercial business and strategy in Ohio.
A native of Mansfield, Ohio, Martenet is a 1988 cum laude graduate of Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He also starred on BGSU’s basketball team, earning Academic All-American honors.
Erin Hoeflinger, the former leader of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Ohio, has been promoted to oversee Anthem’s East Region including Connecticut, Georgia, Maine, New Hampshire, New York and Virginia. Hoeflinger assumed the new role earlier this month, but retained the title of president of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Ohio. She now formally hands that role off to Martenet.
