FRANFKORT, Ky. (April 14, 2017) — Aaron Thompson, who has been serving as interim president of Kentucky State University, will return to the Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE) as executive vice president, effective July 1.

Thompson left CPE in May 2016 when he accepted the position at KSU.

During his leadership at KSU, fall and spring enrollment grew, student debt loads decreased and the university launched a free textbook program to help students reduce college costs. Also, last year’s budget was balanced and this year’s will be as well.

Dr. M. Christopher Brown last month was announced as KSU’s new president. Thompson was not interviewed for the position.
