LOUISVILLE (April 20, 2017) — Amazon surprised students at West End School in Louisville Wednesday with a makeover for the lower school library.

Amazon helped to support reimagining the space and donated new furnishings, a catalog system, books and 16 Fire Kids Edition tablets. The donation is valued at more than $10,000.

The donation will enable the library to be a more functional space, both for reading and instructional teaching.

More than 20 Amazon associates from the Jeffersonville fulfillment center spent the day putting together furniture, moving shelves and decorating the library for the students.

The Jeffersonville fulfillment center has more than 3,000 full time employees. The donation was part of Amazon’s ongoing commitment to give back to the communities where its associates work and live.
