Gov. Bevin makes appointments to boards and commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (July 5, 2017) — Gov. Matt Bevin has made appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions.

Kentucky Board of Social Work:

  • Thomas “Jene” Hedden, of Shelbyville, is a contract clinical therapist for Whitten Psychological Services. He will represent Licensed Clinical Social Workers and serve for a term expiring June 21, 2021.
  • Charlene Burlew, of Burlington, is clinical director of residential-based services for the Children’s Home of Northern Kentucky. She will represent Licensed Clinical Social Workers and serve for a term expiring June 21, 2021.

The Kentucky Board of Social Work is composed of seven gubernatorial appointees. The Board evaluates and approves the qualifications of applicants for licensure as certified social workers within the commonwealth.

Kentucky Board of Optometric Examiners:

  • Dr. William Thomas Reynolds, of Richmond, is an optometrist. He will serve for a term expiring July 1, 2020.

The Kentucky Board of Optometric Examiners is composed of five gubernatorial appointees. The Board is responsible for regulating the practice and licensure of optometry within the commonwealth.
