Gov. Bevin makes appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Jan. 4, 2018) – Gov. Matt Bevin has made the following appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions:

Dennis Sullivan and Charles Miller O’Neal have been appointed to the Kentucky Wireless Interoperability Executive Committee.

• Dennis Sullivan, of Louisville, is an assistant director/emergency manager for the University of Louisville. He will represent the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education and serve for a term expiring July 22, 2019.
• Charles Miller O’Neal, of Glasgow, is EMS director for Barren-Metcalfe County Ambulance Service. He will represent local emergency medical services and serve for a term expiring July 22, 2019.

The Kentucky Wireless Interoperability Executive Committee was created to address communications interoperability, a homeland security issue which is critical to the ability of public safety first responders to communicate with each other by radio. The Committee advises and makes recommendations regarding strategic wireless initiatives to achieve public safety voice and data communications interoperability.

Taylor Allen Payne and Mary Kathryn Shields have been appointed to the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Private Investigators.

• Taylor Allen Payne, of Lexington, is an assistant attorney general for the Commonwealth’s Office of the Attorney General. He will represent the Office of the Attorney General and serve for a term expiring Aug. 15, 2018.
• Dr. Mary Kathryn Shields, of Louisville, is a dentist and owner of Triple Crown Dentistry. She will represent citizens at large and serve for a term expiring on Aug. 15, 2018.

The Kentucky Board of Licensure for Private Investigators promotes, preserves, and protects the public safety and welfare through effective regulation of the practice of private investigations. The Board accomplishes this mission through the examination, testing, and licensing of prospective private investigators; regulation and discipline of all licensed private investigators; and through appropriate communication of information and laws pertaining to the practice of private investigations in Kentucky.

Mary Kathryn Shields has been appointed to the Kentucky State Council for Interstate Adult Offender Supervision.

• Dr. Mary Kathryn Shields, of Louisville, is a dentist and owner of Triple Crown Dentistry. She will represent at-large members and serve for a term expiring Sept. 6, 2021.

The Kentucky State Council for Interstate Adult Offender Supervision guides the transfer of offenders in a manner that promotes effective supervision strategies consistent with public safety, offender accountability, and victim’s rights. All states and U.S. territories are active with this mission.
