Greater Louisville Employers Honored for Excellence in Workplace Effectiveness
Louisville, KY (August 21, 2012) – Greater Louisville Inc. and the Louisville Society for Human Resource Management (LSHRM) announced today the Greater Louisville winners of the 2012 Alfred P. Sloan Awards for Excellence in Workplace and Flexibility due to their exemplary flexible workplace practices.
Given by the Families and Work Institute and the Society for Human Resource Management, the Sloan Awards recognize employers that have distinguished themselves in Greater Louisville and across the country. Winners are identified through a rigorous selection process, which involves an evaluation of employers’ flexibility programs and practices, from telecommuting to job sharing to phased retirement programs, and via a confidential employee survey.
GLI and LSHRM are the official hosts of the awards in Greater Louisville.

An initiative of Families and Work Institute (FWI) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the Alfred P. Sloan Awards for Excellence in Workplace Effectiveness and Flexibility are part of When Work Works, a national project to educate the business community on the value of workplace effectiveness and flexibility.
Award winners will be featured in the next edition of the Guide to Bold New Ideas for Making Work Work. Information about innovative workplace practices will also be showcased at a national work-life conference and be included in business education programming by FWI and SHRM.
