Following the passage of reforms to the state’s tax code during the 2018 session, state and federal leaders will speak about what the changes mean for Kentucky citizens and businesses as well as what reforms could come next.
The Kentucky Chamber of Commerce is set to host a State and Federal Tax Reform Summit on Monday, June 25 to provide thoughtful discussion on improving Kentucky’s competitiveness through tax reform. The summit will allow business leaders, advocates and citizens an opportunity to hear from and interact with local, state and federal policy makers.
A panel of legislative leaders including Acting House Speaker David Osborne, Senate Majority Floor Leader Damon Thayer and Senate Appropriations and Revenue Committee Chair Chris McDaniel will discuss the recently passed reforms and what further changes will need to be made based on any oversights crafting the law and more during the Policy Makers Panel moderated by Kentucky Chamber President and CEO Dave Adkisson.
Members of the Bevin administration including Commissioner of Revenue Daniel Bork and State Budget Director’s Office Economist Greg Harkenrider will speak about how the changes to the tax code will be interpreted and implemented.
Kentucky Congressman Andy Barr will kick off the day with comments about tax reform efforts at the federal level and how they could impact Kentucky.
The Summit will include several additional experts on state and federal tax reform and representatives from national groups including the U.S. Chamber, Tax Foundation and Council on State Taxation.
The Kentucky Chamber State and Federal Tax Reform Summit is set to take place on Monday, June 25 at the Griffin Gate Marriott Resort in Lexington beginning at 8 a.m. with a full agenda. Learn more about the agenda and register for the event here.
