Xhale Inc. has been awarded $175,000 from the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development’s High-Tech Investment Pool. Xhale is developing technologies that analyze a person’s breath and other types of vapors for use in pharmaceutical, health monitoring and diagnostic applications. Xhale’s pipeline products include breath-based therapeutic drug monitoring and devices to replace current blood and urine tests. The company’s HyGreen wireless sensor system for hospitals, which monitors staffers who are washing their hands properly and alerts those who aren’t, was named one of 2009’s Top New Technology Products by Popular Science magazine.
