Kentucky Broadcasters Association appoints new board chair

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Julie H. Schmidt has been appointed the chair of the Kentucky Broadcasters Association Board of Directors. Schmidt is the senior director of External Affairs for Kentucky Educational Television (KET), the largest statewide public broadcasting network in the nation.

She began her career with the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and was the founding director of Leadership Kentucky in 1984; returning as president in 2001 to 2005. Prior, she worked in healthcare in Atlanta, Georgia and Lexington before joining KET in 2006.

Active in the community, Schmidt is president-elect of the Rotary Club of Louisville and a member of the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and resides in Prospect, Ky.

The Kentucky Broadcasters Association unites public and commercial radio and television stations across the state of Kentucky.
