Bowling Green-based Fruit of the Loom, Inc. has announced plans to permanently close its Jerzees facility in Choloma, Honduras, within the next few months. Company officials said the decision to close the facility was based on a shift in product demand and the ongoing consolidation resulting from Fruit of the Loom’s acquisition of Russell Corporation in 2006. The Honduras plant employs approximately 800 people.
