Energy and Environment Cabinet seeking nominations for Secretary’s Award

Nomination deadline Aug. 26

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Aug. 1, 2016) — The Energy and Environment Cabinet is seeking nominations for its inaugural Secretary’s Award.

One Secretary’s Award will be given to an individual and another to an entity such as a business, municipality, or non-governmental organization. Nominees should have demonstrated long-term leadership and commitments to sustainability, environmental protection, conservation of natural resources, or responsible development of energy resources.

Special consideration will be given to those who have demonstrated a sustained commitment to preserving and improving the rich and diverse environment of the commonwealth.

The nomination deadline is Aug. 26. Awards will be presented during a luncheon on Sept. 22 at the Governor’s Conference oat the Lexington Convention Center.
