Clark Associates is investing $3.3 million to locate a new distribution center in Madisonville that will eventually employ some 95 workers.
The distribution center will serve Clark’s e-commerce business, WEBstaurantStore Inc., a company that specializes in online distribution of food service equipment and supplies.
Clark Associates, which is headquartered in Lancaster, Penn., is a 40-year-old family-owned company that has multiple divisions and branches in mechanical, sales and manufacturing and employs more than 400 people. The company established WEBstaurantStore in 2004 and has seen it gain customers throughout the United States and Canada, distributing approximately 40,000 items.
Dave Groff, vice president of distribution for Clark, said the new facility, which will be the company’s second distribution center in Madisonville, was needed due to the rapid growth WEBstaurantStore has experienced. Groff said the Madisonville location provides “excellent transit times” to the company’s customers in the Midwest and South.
Clark has acquired a 148,000-s.f. facility previously owned by Autoliv Corp. and expects to have renovations complete and bring in the first wave of employees by late summer.
