HARRODSBURG, Ky. (June 13, 2018) – Kentucky Owl today announced the release of Kentucky Owl 11-year-old Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey Batch #2. After a successful release of Kentucky Owl Rye Batch #1, which achieved a 95-point score from Whisky Advocate, Master Blender, Dixon Dedman, has handcrafted a second offering of rye whiskey that will continue to strengthen Kentucky Owl’s high-quality credentials and brand footprint. Similar to the first batch of rye, Batch #2 will have a limited quantity release in select U.S. markets due to high demand.
“We crafted this straight rye whiskey to be more approachable to the casual drinker while containing all the good parts of whiskey without any of the bad. It’s like you melted a cinnamon roll and gave it a little kick at the end to remind you it was whiskey,” said Dixon Dedman, Kentucky Owl master blender. “I was so proud of the product we put out with Rye Batch #1 last year, and what we were able to do with Batch #2, I think is really something special.”
At 101.8 proof and 50.9 percent alcohol by volume, Batch #2 delivers high-quality taste with traditional Kentucky Owl roots. Kentucky Owl Straight Rye Whiskey provides notes of honey, cinnamon and strawberry jam undertones. The combination of rich sweetness and baking spices coat the entire palate, while hints of honey and red pepper linger, giving a long-lasting finish.
Kentucky Owl 11-Year-Old Straight Rye Whiskey Batch #2 will have a smaller batch volume than the previously released Rye Batch #1, and will be available in limited quantities with a suggested retail price of $199.99 for a 750mL bottle beginning in June 2018.
