FRANKFORT, Ky. — Gov. Matt Bevin has made appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:
Joshua Keith Ramsey has been appointed as a member of the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Occupational Therapy.
- Joshua Keith Ramsey, of Summer Shade, is an occupational therapist. He will represent licensed occupational therapists and serve for a term expiring July 15, 2022.
The Kentucky Board of Licensure for Occupational Therapy administers and enforces the statutory authority and monitors the needs of the consuming public. The Board examines and licenses all eligible candidates for entry into the profession of occupational therapy and recommends appropriate changes in the law.
Steven Phillip Bullard and Laura R. Harper have been appointed as members of the Kentucky Commission on Military Affairs.
- Brig. Gen. (Ret.) Steven Phillip Bullard, of Crestwood, is the executive director of the Kentucky Commission on Military Affairs. He will serve by virtue of his position; and
- Laura R. Harper, of Cadiz, is the vice president of Western Kentucky SMA. She will serve for a term expiring July 16, 2023.
The Kentucky Commission on Military Affairs (KCMA) is an independent agency attached to the office of the Governor. It was formed upon the passage of KRS 154.12-203 in 1996 and is the lead advocate for military installations and the related defense economy in Kentucky. For more than two decades, the KCMA has directly managed Base Re-alignment and Closure (BRAC), set conditions for economic growth near Kentucky military installations and provided insight to all levels of government regarding the military and veterans.
Brock Alan Barnes has been appointed as a member of the Kentucky Boxing and Wrestling Commission.
- Brock Alan Barnes, of Lexington, is a physician. He will represent medical doctors and serve for a term expiring May 16, 2020.
The Kentucky Boxing and Wrestling Commission oversees all professional boxing, wrestling and full-contact competitive bouts and exhibitions held in Kentucky. It licenses contestants, officials and promoters. The Commission is attached to the Department of Public Protection for administrative purposes.
Janice Sword Way has been appointed as a member of the Eastern Kentucky University Board of Regents.
- Janice Sword Way, of Hebron, has served as president of Leadership Kentucky since 2015. She will serve for a term expiring June 30, 2025.
The governance of Eastern Kentucky University is vested in an 11-member Board of Regents. Eight of the members are appointed by the Governor from among nominees submitted by a nominating commission. These members serve six-year terms.
Clayton Russell Carroll, Robert A. Napolilli, Kim Zeigler, Dennis Brandon Griffith, Andrew A. Venetianer, Julie Anne Sweets, and Steve Shannon have been appointed as members of the Kentucky Commission on Services and Supports for Individuals with an Intellectual Disability or Other Developmental Disabilities.
- Clayton Russel Carroll, of Dunnville, is a motivational speaker. He will represent individuals with disabilities and serve for a term expiring July 15, 2023; and
- Robert A. Napolilli, of Prospect, is retired. He will represent family members of an individual with disabilities and serve for a term expiring July 15, 2023; and
- Kim Zeigler, of Frankfort, is a family engagement coordinator. She will represent family members of an individual with disabilities and serve for a term expiring July 15, 2020; and
- Dennis Brandon Griffith, of Lexington, is a social worker. He will represent direct service providers and serve for a term expiring July 15, 2023; and
- Andew A. Venetianer, of Louisville, is a self-advocate. He will represent individuals with disabilities and serve for a term expiring July 15, 2023; and
- Julie Anne Sweets, of Rockfield, is a homemaker. She will represent family members of an individual with disabilities and serve for a term expiring July 15, 2023; and
- Steve Shannon, of Lexington, is the executive director of the Kentucky Association of Regional Programs. He will represent direct service providers and serve for a term expiring July 15, 2023.
The Kentucky Commission on Services and Supports for Individuals with an Intellectual Disability and Other Developmental Disabilities serves in an advisory capacity to the Governor and the General Assembly concerning the needs of persons with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities through developing a statewide strategy to increase access to community-based services and supports for persons with intellectual disabilities and other developmental disabilities.
