LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky American Water has announced the appointment of John Dillon as vice president and division general counsel for American Water’s Southeast Division. Dillon will be based in Kentucky American Water’s Lexington office.
In this position, Dillon will provide legal counsel and guidance for both Kentucky and Tennessee American Water and continue to support the operations of New York American Water. Dillon joined American Water in 2017 where he served as director of corporate counsel for the Eastern Division and provided legal counsel and strategic advice to New York American Water regarding regulatory affairs, corporate governance, contracts, real estate, public utility and environmental law, litigation, compliance, land use, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining American Water, Dillon served as a senior corporate attorney with SUEZ Water in North America Inc.
Dillon received a bachelor’s degree from Manhattan College, a Juris Doctor degree from The New York Law School, and a Master of Laws degree in Environmental Law from Pace University School of Law. He serves as the vice president of the board of directors of Help from People to People, Inc. in New York and serves on the board of trustees at Dominican College.
Dillon and his wife, Christine, have three children and will reside in Lexington.
