Inaugural Gingerbread House competition to be held Dec. 5 in Millersburg

MILLERSBURG, Ky. — The inaugural Gingerbread House Competition and Exhibit will be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 5 at Mustard Seed Hill, 1122 Main Street, Millersburg.

The competition, which is open to anyone, will include submissions from Kentucky pastry chefs: Cameron Tinker, Tinker’s Cake Shop; Laura Clay, Epping’s on Eastside; and Becca Schmutte, 21C Hotels.

The competition will be showcased at Christmas at Mustard Seed Hill, a season-long event featuring dazzling light attractions throughout the Millersburg campus, with a holiday market filled with local retail and artisan vendors, and a hospitality tent with food and refreshments for visitors.

The event will feature more than 20 gingerbread houses designed and created by individuals throughout Central Kentucky. Competitors will be divided into categories and will receive awards according to each category. After the competition, all of the gingerbread houses will be on display at the Allen House throughout Christmas at Mustard Seed Hill. Admission is $5.

Mustard Seed Hill is part of Community Ventures’ efforts to revitalize the city of Millersburg by attacting a high volume of visitors to the town, sparking new economic development, creating jobs and providing essential services to the residents.
