Increased demand for pet health spurs new hiring for local veterinary clinic

Dr. Finch and Lyla

LEXINGTON, Ky. — An increase in demand for veterinary care caused the Richmond Road Veterinary Clinic to begin opening seven days a week last year. Now, that demand has also spurred the hiring of additional veterinarians. With the recent hiring of Dr. Amanda Finch, DVM, the Lexington clinic now has a full-time staff of five veterinarians.

Dr. Finch graduated magna cum laude with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from Alabama’s Tuskegee University in May. University of Kentucky football and basketball fans may recognize the Lexington native as a member of the UK Dance Team from 2012 until her graduation in 2015 with a degree in animal science.

“My favorite part about working at RRVC is the atmosphere,” said Dr. Finch. “Everyone is so eager and willing to learn and work together to ensure the best quality medicine and care. It’s great to be back.”
