Savannah Maddox withdraws from 2023 governor’s race

The Bottom Line: by John Hughes

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Republican state Representative Savannah Maddox announced she is withdrawing from the 2023 governor’s race. In a Facebook post, she shared the difficulty of raising funds to be competitive in the race.

Serving in the General Assembly since 2019, Representative Maddox represents House District 61, which includes parts of Boone, Gallatin, Grant, and Kenton Counties. She launched her campaign over the summer in Northern Kentucky.

Over the next couple of weeks, many candidates who have announced their run for governor are expected to file their official paperwork with the Secretary of State, with the deadline being January 6th at 4:00 PM EST.
