Ky native new director of outpatient services for Sun Behavioral in Lexington

Jared Dillow

LEXINGTON, Ky. — A licensed psychological practitioner with more than a dozen years of experience in behavioral health is newly leading SUN Behavioral Health Kentucky’s intensive outpatient center in Lexington.

Jared Dillow, LPP is the Director of Outpatient Services for SUN Behavioral Lexington, which is an outpatient center for people who are working to recover from substance use and mental health disorders. Since opening in July 2022, SUN’s mental health professionals have served more than 250 people in Fayette County and the surrounding Bluegrass area.

Dillow comes to SUN with valuable clinical, academic, and management expertise. He spent the entirety of his career, including the last decade in Lexington, working in various aspects of the behavioral health field. Most recently, Dillow worked for one of the region’s largest psychiatric hospital systems where he oversaw the daily operations of a satellite assessment and referral center in Lexington.

“Jared’s impressive record in expanding operations, reducing turnover, and implementing process improvements give him the wealth of experience needed to lead operations in SUN’s intensive outpatient center in Lexington,” said SUN Behavioral Health Kentucky CEO Jason Staats. In addition to the Lexington center, SUN Behavioral Health operates a psychiatric hospital in Erlanger in partnership with St. Elizabeth Healthcare.

“I was drawn to the position here at SUN because I felt like it was an exciting opportunity to put the knowledge and skills that I’ve developed through my career into use in a way that serves my community and strengthens mental health services in the area,” says Dillow, who graduated from Morehead State University where he obtained a Master’s degree in clinical psychology.

Services at SUN Behavioral Health Lexington include group and family therapy, stress management, and trauma-informed treatment, all of which are individualized to meet the needs of the person seeking recovery. Programming is conducted by licensed psychotherapists, nurses, and ancillary therapists, and includes cognitive behavioral therapy, coping skills training, and a wellness recovery action plan.
