Phone scam targeting seniors

Callers claim to be with Division of Aging

scamFRANKFORT, Ky. (March 16, 2015) — Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway and the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services Department for Aging and Independent Living (DAIL) is warning consumers of a reported scam targeting Kentucky’s seniors.

DAIL has reported to the Office of the Attorney General that it has received multiple reports of an individual or individuals who falsely identify themselves as a representative of the “Division of Aging” offering a complimentary Life Alert system paid for by the state. The callers are telling consumers all they need to do to receive this service is to verify some personal information.
