Bucks for Bright Ideas competition to award more than $30,000 to turn ideas into businesses

Open to residents, college students in 28 counties in Bowling Green, Owensboro and Elizabethtown region

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (March 2, 2016) — The Bowling Green office of the Kentucky Innovation Network, in partnership with the network’s Owensboro and Elizabethtown offices, is accepting applications for the 2016 Bucks for Bright Ideas competition through April 22.

UnknownBucks for Bright Ideas provides creative minded individuals with the resources necessary to bring their idea to reality. Those entering the competition have the opportunity to receive help from business experts while competing for professional services worth more than $30,000.

“Many people in our part of the state have innovative ideas that could become the foundation for a new business,” said Jeff Hook, executive director for the Bowling Green Kentucky Innovation Network office. “However some people have trouble moving their idea to the commercialization stage and the Kentucky Innovation Network is here to help with that effort.”

Multiple winners will receive free services from regional professional firms for market research, patent search, accounting support, product design and more. All applicants will have access to one-on-one assistance from business development experts at no charge and their ideas will remain confidential.

Bucks for Bright Ideas is open to anyone who lives in the 28 counties of the Bowling Green, Owensboro and Elizabethtown region or a high school or college student in the region. The counties include Adair, Allen, Barren, Breckinridge, Butler, Daviess, Edmonson, Grayson, Green, Hancock, Hardin, Hart, Henderson, LaRue, Logan, McLean, Meade, Metcalfe, Monroe, Nelson, Ohio, Simpson, Taylor, Union, Warren, Washington and Webster.
