UK leads nation in basketball attendance; UofL No. 3

Wildcats averaged 23,361 per game

LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 8, 2016) — The University of Kentucky men’s basketball team led all NCAA teams in attendance during the 2015-16 season, according to NCAA statistics released today.

UK had the most overall attendance—397,148—and the highest per game average—23,361. UK had 17 home games.

Louisville was third in average attendance—20,859—and second in overall attendance, with 396,333 in 19 home games.

UK was second in overall attendance (home and road games and neutral sites) with 694,871, trailing only North Carolina, 781,614. Louisville was No. 8, at 532,370.

Western Kentucky averaged 3,671 for home games, Murray State 3,266, Morehead State 2,920 and Eastern Kentucky 2,034.

Kentucky Wesleyan ranked No. 12 among Division II teams, averaging 1,761 and Bellarmine was No. 14 at 1,733.
