Morehead State University names assistant director for academic advising and retention

MOREHEAD, Ky. (Aug. 9, 2016) — Morehead State University’s Center for Academic Success has named Sara Larson assistant director for academic advising and retention.

Larson, who has been at MSU since 2002, previously served as assistant athletic director for student-athlete services and senior woman administrator within the Department of Athletics. She originally came to the university to serve as a graduate assistant athletic trainer.

In her new job, Larson will provide leadership for many student success initiatives and will be integral in the implementation, coordination and monitoring of academic services and programming for Eagle success program

She also will be responsible for data collection and analysis of retention initiatives for other targeted student populations.

Larson received her master’s degree in sports and recreation administration from MSU and earned a bachelor’s degree in nutritional sciences from University of Missouri.
