Bowling Green High School teacher named Kentucky Teacher of the Year

Will represent state at national competition

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Oct. 19, 2016) — Ron A. Skillern, who teaches at Bowling Green High School, today was named the Kentucky Teacher of the Year, as well as the Kentucky High School Teacher of the Year.

Skillern will receive a cash prize of $10,000 and will represent Kentucky in the 2017 National Teacher of the Year competition.

Kellie Jones, of Taylor County Elementary School, was named the Kentucky Elementary School Teacher of the Year and Sarah Mills, of Eastside Middle School, was named the Kentucky Middle School Teacher of the Year. They each will receive $3,000.
