LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 1, 2016) — Six state high school football champions will be named Friday through Sunday during the Russell Athletic/Kentucky High School Athletic Association Commonwealth Gridiron Bowl at Houchens Industries–L. T. Smith Stadium in Bowling Green.
Championship schedule:
Friday
- Class A: 7 p.m. — Beechwood vs. Hazard
Saturday
- Class 3A: 5 p.m. — Central vs. Belfry
- Class 6A: 8 p.m. — Trinity (Louisville) vs. Lafayette
Sunday
- Class 2A: 12:30 p.m. — Christian Academy-Louisville vs. Danville
- Class 4A: 3:45 p.m. — Franklin-Simpson vs. Johnson Central
- Class 5A: 7 p.m. — Bowling Green vs. Pulaski County
