First Bankers Trust hires chief investment officer

First Bankers Trust Company, a division of Town & Country Bank and Trust Co. of Bardstown, Ky., recently announced the hiring of Michael Wiener, CFA, as chief investment officer.

Wiener is an accomplished investment professional with over 30 years of experience managing client assets. Most recently he served as the chief investment officer for a nationally-known trust company where he chaired the Trust Investment Committee and acted as the key media spokesperson. While there he led an investment team that improved the process and speed of asset allocation and mutual fund selection across multiple platforms. He also developed and co- managed dividend growth equity portfolios that attracted $50 million in new assets.

He has worked at notable Wealth and Asset Management organizations including DuPont Pension Fund Investment and Bank of New York Mellon specializing in dividend growth investments, value portfolio management, core portfolio management, investment strategies, risk management, and media relations.

Wiener completed his undergraduate studies at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh and holds his masters of business administration from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

In addition to his notable career experience, Wiener is also an accomplished author and public speaker. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, cross training, studying behavioral economics, continuing his education and playing the guitar.
