Gov. Bevin makes appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Feb. 28, 2018) – Gov. Matt Bevin has made the following appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions:

Mary R. Nixon and James Michael Rogers have been appointed to the University of Louisville Board of Trustees.

  • Mary R. Nixon, of Louisville, is a retired Yum! Brands, Inc. finance executive. She will serve for a term expiring Jan. 13, 2024.
  • James Michael Rogers, of Prospect, is a retired Hilliard Lyons chief operating officer and executive vice president. He will serve for a term expiring Jan. 13, 2024.

The University of Louisville, located in Jefferson County, is a state-supported research university with an enrollment of approximately 22,500. The Board consists of 10 members appointed by the Governor, selected from nominees submitted by the Postsecondary Education Nominating Committee.

Laura Schulte Babbage has been appointed to the Eastern Kentucky University Board of Regents.

  • Laura Schulte Babbage, of Lexington, is a chaplain for KentuckyOne Health/St. Joseph Hospital. She will serve for a term expiring June 30, 2021.

Eastern Kentucky University, located in Richmond, is a state-supported regional comprehensive university with an enrollment of approximately 17,000. The Board consists of 8 members appointed by the Governor, selected from nominees submitted by the Postsecondary Education Nominating Committee.
