Cedar Lake receives $15,000 grant for ‘Circle of Friends’

Program helps care to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Aug. 7, 2014) — Cralle Foundation has awarded Cedar Lake — the region’s largest private non-profit care provider for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities — a $15,000 grant in support of the organization’s $12.5 Million “Circle of Friends” campaign. The Cralle grant brings the current total of donations to the campaign to $6 million.The “Circle of Friends” campaign, which kicked off in 2013, is an innovative plan for expansion of care and support and will intensify Cedar Lake’s commitment to excellence in its mission to provide highly compassionate, capable care to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities so they may experience a life of abundant possibilities. The campaign components include culture and core competencies, capital enhancements, client service expansion, community engagement and a $2 million indigent care endowment.

Cedar Lake, which operates in Jefferson, Oldham and Henry counties, has 38 properties, and supports 230 people with a staff of over 400. Supports range from 24/7 support for the most medically fragile, to intermittent support for those who live independently.
