The Lane Report, Kentucky’s business news source for 33 years, is seeking applications for the position of associate publisher.

FUNCTION: The associate publisher develops advertising revenue in The Lane Report and other print and digital publications while continuously providing professional relationship service to the company’s clients and prospects. While the primary focus is on revenue production, an associate publisher contributes to the editorial, circulation, promotional and production objectives of the firm’s publishing products.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibilities of an associate publisher include but are not limited to the following:

• Sell and service accounts as directed by the management team by building consultant relationships with advertisers.
• Develop new business through prospecting potential accounts and meeting with a minimum of five new accounts each week.
• Achieve and surpass established company revenue goals.
• Make personal sales calls weekly and prepare written presentations/media plans on all assigned account and prospects.
• Provide timely sales activity and account status reports.
• Inform clients of advertising materials requirements and coordinate the delivery of material within established deadlines for assigned accounts.
• Maintain up-to-date, accurate files on all active and prospective clients.
• Contribute editorial topics and trends for consideration to the editorial staff
• Conduct oneself with a positive attitude, exhibit a team spirit and adhere to company goals.

QUALIFICATIONS: College degree preferred. Strong communication skills are essential, along with good organizational talent and the ability to handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced work environment. Daytime travel required. The individual must be a self-starter motivated by personal goals as well as company directives.

FUNCTION: The account manager sells advertising in The Lane Report and other publications while continuously providing professional service to the company’s clients. The primary focus is on revenue production from existing accounts and the development of new business.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibilities of an account manager include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Sell and service accounts as directed by the management team.
• Continue the development of new business.
• Achieve and surpass established company revenue goals.
• Make personal sales calls weekly and prepare written presentations/media plans as appropriate.
• Provide timely sales activity and account status reports.
• Inform clients of advertising materials requirements and coordinate the delivery of material within established deadlines for assigned accounts.
• Maintain up-to-date, accurate files on all active and prospective clients.
• Conduct oneself with a positive attitude, exhibit a team spirit and adhere to company goals.
• Carry out any other duties as may be required by management team.
