No. 16 on AIER list of best small metro areas
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 4, 2012) — Lexington placed among the Top 20 in a list of best small metro area “college destinations” published by the American Institute for Economic Research (AIER).
Lexington ranked No. 16 on the list, which included cities with populations between 250,000 and 1 million residents. AIER’s College Destinations Index also included rankings for major and mid-size metro areas, as well as college towns.
In creating the index, a dozen factors were evaluated using the most current data available to provide a snapshot of each community’s overall academic and cultural environment, quality of life and employment opportunities in the area.
