BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (Dec. 9, 2013) – Cabela’s Inc., a leading specialty retailer of hunting, fishing and other outdoor-related merchandise, has announced plans to open a 42,000-s.f. Cabela’s Outpost store in Bowling Green.
The store will be Cabela’s second in Kentucky – joining the Louisville location – and is scheduled to open in the fall of 2014. It will be located at the intersection of Scottsdale Road and Ken Bale Boulevard near Sam’s Club.
Cabela’s expects the store to employ about 90 full-time, part-time and seasonal employees, with most coming from Bowling Green and the surrounding area.
“The passion Kentuckians have for outdoor recreation combined with the success of our Louisville store makes Bowling Green a great fit for Cabela’s,” said Cabela Chief Executive Officer Tommy Millner.
Like all of the Cabela Outpost stores, the Bowling Green location will have a rugged look and feel and will feature museum-quality wildlife displays, a gun counter, indoor archery range, archery tech room and hand-painted murals, as well as a core-flex layout featuring innovative digital signage and seasonal product assortments.
The Nebraska-based company currently operates 50 stores across North America and plans to open an additional 19 over the next two years.
