College Scholarship Day Friday at Keeneland

Ten $1,000 scholarships to be awarded

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 8, 2015) — Full-time students have the opportunity to earn scholarship money Friday at Keeneland during College Scholarship Day. The annual event, which typically attracts between 4,000 to 6,000 students, includes 10 scholarships of $1,000. Admission to the event is free with a college ID.

Students can register beginning at 11 a.m. in the North Terrace to win the scholarships and prizes from local vendors awarded after each of the day’s races, which begin at 1:05 p.m. The first 2,000 students to register will receive a Keeneland College Scholarship Day T-shirt courtesy of Kennedy’s Wildcat Den or a Southern Proper hat.

The program, sponsored by the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association, began in October 2002. The total scholarship aid distributed at Kentucky tracks is $517,000 over the life of the program.

• Race 1 (1:05 p.m.) — $1,000 scholarship; Sovaro cooler.
• Race 2 (1:39 p.m.) — $1,000 scholarship; Pazzo’s $300 gift card, Logan’s of Lexington prize package.
• Race 3 (2:12 p.m.) — $1,000 scholarship; Bluegrass Belts prize package.
• Race 4 (2:45 p.m.) — $1,000 scholarship; BlueTique $300 gift card, City Barbeque $300 gift card.
• Race 5 (3:18 p.m.) — $1,000 scholarship; Altar’d State package, Noodles and Company gift card.
• Race 6 (3:51 p.m.) — $1,000 scholarship; Vineyard Vines prize package, Total Quality Logistics GoPro and gift card.
• Race 7 (4:24 p.m.) — $1,000 scholarship; Costa prize package, Salon Summit Academy prize package.
• Race 8 (4:57 p.m.) — $1,000 scholarship; Campus Quilts T-shirt quilt kit, American Campus Communities MacBook Air.
• Race 9 (5:30 p.m.) — $1,000 scholarship; Raising Cane’s prize basket, Breeders’ Cup ticket package to “The Hill.”
• Race 10 (6:03 p.m.) — $1,000 scholarship; Sleep Outfitters pillow set, Pandora jewelry set.
