LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 26, 2016) — Brescia University is the top 4-year online school in Kentucky and Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College the best 2-year online college, according to the “Best Online Schools in Kentucky 2015-16” by Accredited Schools Online.
The schools ranked were required to meet a number of criteria and metric including:
- Must offer a Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Must be a public or private, not-for-profit institution
- Must offer at least one fully-online bachelor’s degree program
Schools were then given a score, up to 100 points total, for the following categories:
- School located in Kentucky
- Count of programs available
- Number of subject areas covered by program offerings
- Student-to-faculty ratio
- Percentage of students receiving financial aid
- Academic/career counseling services available
- Placement services available upon program completion
- Loan default rate of students
- Tuition
- Peer-based value
Brescia scored a 95.29. Midway University was second, at 94.95, followed by University of Louisville (94.43), Campbellsville University (94.22), Lindsey Wilson College (91.35), Eastern Kentucky University (91.35), Murray State University (91.35), Western Kentucky University (90.56), University of the Cumberlands (90.28), Morehead State University (89.95), Spalding University (88.88) and Asbury University (86.97).
Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College was given a score of 98.56, followed by Henderson Community College (98.3), West Kentucky Community and Technical College (97.64), Bluegrass Community and Technical College (95.17), Somerset Community College (94.18) and Owensboro Community and Technical College (92).
