LIBA hosts seminar for local business owners to learn about Kentucky’s new sales tax laws

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Significant changes were made to Kentucky’s sales tax laws effective July 1, which impacts many local, independent businesses from gyms to nonprofits. The Louisville Independent Business Alliance (LIBA) is hosting a seminar for local business owners to learn more about the new laws on Thursday, October 4th from 9-10 a.m. at The Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky, 1640 Lyndon Farm Court, Suite 100. At this seminar, accountants from DMLO CPAs will provide a practical understanding of who is impacted by the new Kentucky law, how to apply and file online for those who have not had to previously, where to get answers to very specific circumstances and what to do if you are not yet in compliance.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from and interact with two state legislators, Rep. Ken Fleming and Rep. Jason Nemes, who both serve on the Appropriations and Revenue Committee. They will provide background on how these laws came about and what might be coming in the next legislative session.

The seminar is free for LIBA members and $10 for non-members. RSVPs are required and can be made online or by calling 502-473-4687.
