EKU alumna named director of parking and transportation

Courtney Collins

RICHMOND, Ky. — Eastern Kentucky University has named alumna Courtney Collins the director of parking and transportation services.

“Courtney brings a high level of experience and professionalism to this position, combined with a love of EKU,” said Bryan Makinen, executive director of public safety. “We welcome her energy, enthusiasm, leadership and service-oriented approach in helping the university community.”

Collins is no stranger to the Colonel community. She graduated from EKU with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in 2011. While attending school, she served as a student public safety officer within the division of public safety.

Upon graduation, she joined the university staff as a parking control officer and began serving as a police officer the next year. She became a detective in the criminal investigations unit.

As parking and transportation services continues its transition to a service-oriented department, Collins will have direct oversight for the department of parking and transportation services and is responsible for planning, organizing and administering university-wide parking and transportation services, operations and initiatives.

“She has a proven track record of success and we look forward to new ideas, initiatives and continual advancement of the parking and transportation services department,” said Makinen.
