FRANKFORT, Ky. — Gov. Matt Bevin has made the following appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions:
Russ Lohan has been appointed as a member of the Real Estate Appraisers Board.
- Russ Lohan, of Louisville, is a real estate appraiser. He will represent real estate appraisers and serve for a term expiring Oct. 31, 2021.
The Real Estate Appraisers Board is composed of five gubernatorial appointees. The Board is charged with regulating and controlling the licensing and conduct of real estate appraisers within the Commonwealth.
Pamela J. Rickerson and Paula Ruwe Miller have been appointed as members of the Kentucky Board of Licensed Diabetes Educators.
- Pamela J. Rickerson, of Lexington, is a registered nurse. She will represent registered nurses with experience in diabetes education and will serve for a term expiring Nov. 3, 2022; and
- Paula Ruwe Miller, of Ft. Thomas, is a pharmacist. She will represent pharmacists experienced in diabetes education and will serve for a term expiring Nov. 3, 2022.
The mission and purpose of the Kentucky Board of Licensed Diabetes Educators is to regulate the practice of diabetes education in Kentucky and to ensure safe and competent diabetes education to all people in the Commonwealth.
John M. Fuller has been appointed as a member of the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy.
- John M. Fuller, of Versailles, is a pharmacy coordinator. He will represent licensed pharmacists and serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2023.
The Kentucky Board of Pharmacy consists of six gubernatorial appointees. The Board serves the Commonwealth to promote, protect, and preserve public health, safety, and welfare through effective regulation of the practice of pharmacy. The Board is charged with evaluating and approving the qualifications of applicants for licensure as certified pharmacists within the Commonwealth.
Candice Gray-Cunningham has been appointed as a member of the Kentucky Board of Licensure and Certification for Dietitians and Nutritionists.
- Candice Gray-Cunningham, of Goshen, is a registered nurse. She will represent licensed dietitians and serve for a term expiring July 15, 2022.
The purpose of the Board of Dietitians and Nutritionists is to administer and enforce the statutory authority and to monitor the needs of the consuming public. The Board licenses all eligible candidates for entry into the profession of Dietetics and Nutrition.
Tamara M. James has been appointed as a member of the Kentucky Board of Licensure of Marriage and Family Therapists.
- Tamara M. James, of Henderson, is the founder of Intervention Associates, PLLC. She will represent licensed marriage and family therapists and serve for a term expiring July 15, 2019.
The Kentucky Board of Marriage and Family Therapists is made up of seven gubernatorial appointees. The Board is in charge of regulating marriage and family therapist licenses and overseeing that all licensed marriage and family therapists in Kentucky practice within the state’s code of conduct for practicing therapy.
Shannon Baker has been appointed as a member of the Kentucky Agency for Substance Abuse Policy.
- Shannon Baker, of Louisville, is an associate advocacy director for the American Lung Association. She will represent the Kentucky Lung Association and serve for a term expiring Sept. 20, 2020.
The Kentucky Agency for Substance Abuse Policy (KY-ASAP) was created in 2000 by the General Assembly to promote the reduction of alcohol, tobacco and other drug use in Kentucky by working with communities to help them identify existing needs and resources.
David Martin Stockton has been appointed as a member of the Financial Institutions Board.
- David Martin Stockton, of Frankfort, is the president of Stockton Mortgage Group. He will represent the consumer finance or the industrial loan industry and will serve for a term expiring Oct. 10, 2022.
The Financial Institutions Board is an agency within the Public Protection Cabinet and is made up of 12 gubernatorial appointees. The Board is responsible for the licensing, chartering, and regulation of the activities performed by the state chartered/licensed depository and non-depository financial institutions.
Zachary Smith has been appointed as a member of the Kentucky Council for Interstate Adult Offender Supervision.
- Zachary Smith, of Ft. Thomas, is an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney. He will represent at-large members and serve for a term expiring Sept. 6, 2020.
The Kentucky Council for Interstate Adult Offender Supervision guides the transfer of offenders in a manner that promotes effective supervision strategies consistent with public safety, offender accountability, and victim’s rights. All states and US territories are active with this mission.
John Quincy Johnson Sr. has been appointed as a member of the Martin Luther King Jr. State Commission.
- John Quincy Johnson Sr., of Louisville, is head cashier for the Transit Authority of River City. He will serve for a term expiring Dec. 12, 2022.
The Martin Luther King Jr. State Commission promotes the principles of racial equality and nonviolent social change espoused by the late civil rights leader. The 13-member commission, appointed by the governor, focuses on Dr. King’s dream for all Americans to experience full equality, economic justice, and interracial harmony. The Martin Luther King Jr. State Commission sponsors the Martin Luther King Jr. Annual Celebration.
