KCTCS Marketing team wins two national awards

VERSAILLES, Ky. — The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) Marketing and Communications team won two Paragon Awards at the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR) national conference this week in San Antonio.

The team won first place for a video contest in which KCTCS students from across the state submitted videos about how their college is helping them have a better life. More than 75 students submitted videos and KCTCS awarded prizes, including a $500 scholarship, laptops and gift cards, in several categories.

The KCTCS team also won a third-place award for a folder created for the 2018 advocacy campaign. The folder featured a photo of a student at graduation holding her child on her lap. The photo was a representation of many KCTCS adult learners who balance work, family and college.

NCMPR is the only organization of its kind that exclusively represents marketing and public relations professionals at community and technical colleges. It has more than 1,700 members from nearly 650 colleges across the United States and Canada. This year’s Paragon Awards competition drew 1,939 entries from 262 colleges. Earlier this year, the KCTCS Marketing team won six awards at the District 2 competition.
