Linda Edwards retiring after storied career in Kentucky tourism

Linda Edwards

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — After 25 years at Kentucky Venues and the local tourism industry, Linda Edwards, executive director of business development, sales and marketing, is retiring.

“I want to personally thank Linda for her advice and assistance during my transition to Kentucky Venues over the last year,” said David S. Beck, president and CEO of Kentucky Venues. “I’ve repeatedly received positive feedback from both clients and colleagues regarding Linda’s commitment to service and work ethic and we will certainly miss having her as part of our team.”

Edwards has served in a variety of roles during her time with Kentucky Venues including:

• VP of Sales and Marketing for the Kentucky Exposition Center (KEC) and the Kentucky International Convention Center (KICC)
• General Manager of KICC
• The Kentucky State Fair Board’s representative to oversee $207 million renovation of KICC

Prior to working for Kentucky Venues, Edwards worked as a high school educator, flight attendant and spent 22 years in the hotel business.

“It’s hard believe 25 years can go by so fast, especially when you have the opportunity not only to work in and sell the city of Louisville as a tourism destination, but when you have so much fun doing it,” said Edwards.

Her last day with Kentucky Venues is May 31, 2019.
