Retired Lexington oncologist named to Community Advisory Council

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Retired Lexington oncologist Dr. Elvis Donaldson has been named to the Community Advisory Council of the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky.

The council provides the foundation’s board of directors with advice and recommendations regarding overall policy direction. Members also serve as liaisons between the foundation and their communities, assist the foundation with community outreach activities, and engage individually and as a group in efforts to advance the foundation’s charitable mission.

Donaldson, a gynecological cancer specialist, had been in practice for 48 years and was medical director of oncology services for Baptist Health Lexington prior to his retirement in September 2018. He was a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists. He also was an American Cancer Society Fellow and has been listed among the Best Doctors in American since 2005. And he was a clinical professor at the University of Kentucky Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
