Examining Hospital Safety (PDF)

The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit group that collects and reports data on hospital performance, recently released its bi-annual report on hospital safety. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 28 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign grades to more than 2,600 U.S. acute-care hospitals. The grading system for the report focuses entirely on patient safety, including preventable errors, accidents, injuries and infections.
